The NFL season is shortly upon us, and after a buzzing off-season this year is sure to keep you on your toes. Week 1 is always the most unpredictable, as teams may take a few weeks to get back into the swing of things.
The first game this year is an offensive battle between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs. Coming off their second Super Bowl win in the past four years, the Chiefs are looking to start the season off hot, led by reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes. Last year, the Lions shocked everyone, finishing 9-8 and just missing the playoffs. These two offensive juggernauts face off on Thursday Night Football, and I would be surprised if this is a low scoring affair. To no one’s surprise, the Chiefs are going to come out on top in this game.
In an NFC South Divisional match up, the Panthers visit the Falcons. Both teams are being led this year by first round draft picks — the Panthers by quarterback Bryce Young out of Alabama and the Atlanta by running back Bijan Robinson from Texas. This will be a bit of a toilet bowl game, but the Falcons will come out on top because of their dominant run game.
In an AFC North Divisional match up, the Bengals visit the Browns. The Bengals are obviously winning with Joe Burrow under center. Don’t be surprised if Jamaar Chase has a huge game.
In an AFC South Divisional match up, the Jaguars visit the Colts. The Jaguars top wide receiver, Calvin Ridley, is coming off suspension and poised for a huge season in this explosive offense. The Colts are led by first round quarterback Anthony Richardson, an athletic freak from Florida. The Jaguars are going to be too much for the Colt’s struggling defense and win with ease.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Minnesota Vikings after both teams had a disappointing off-season. The Bucs have terrible options at quarterback and are predicted to have a rough season. The Vikings are going to win this game with ease.
The Tennessee Titans visit the New Orleans Saints in a battle of mid. The Saints might have a competent quarterback this season, so I could see them coming out on top in this one.
The 49ers visit Connor Neely’s Steelers. Both of these teams are looking for a huge season, with sophomore QB’s at the helm. The 49ers west coast offense and lockdown defense are going to be enough to cruise past long time coach Mike Tomlin’s Steelers.
The Cardinals visit the Washington Commanders, and I don’t think anyone will watch this game. Both these teams are terrible. The Commanders are probably going to win. The Cardinals are not favored to win any games this year.
The Houston Texans visit the Ravens in an AFC match up that might be somewhat exciting. The Texans had an exciting off season, drafting Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud second overall, and Will Anderson Jr. third overall to bolster their offensive line. The Ravens are going to power past them with Lamar Jackson’s new and healthy weapons.
The Green Bay Packers visit the Chicago Bears, and without Bear’s owner Aaron Rodgers to lead them, this might be a close game. Jordan Love has a lot to prove this season, and I think he starts off slow with a loss to an explosive Bears offense.
The Raiders visit our Broncos in an AFC West match up. Broncos by a million. Let Russ cook. What even is a Raider?
The Eagles visit the Patriots in a sure to be exciting game. The Eagles are in win now mode and are going to be a dominant force for the next couple years. It’d be hard to not pick them to win, but you can never count New England coach Bill Belichick out, especially when he has had seven months to prepare for a team.
The Dolphins visit the Chargers after both teams had exciting off seasons. These are two offensive juggernauts and this is sure to be a high scoring game. I think the Charger’s new coaching additions will help expand on Justin Herbert and let them come out on top.
The Rams visit the Seahawks in an NFC West match up. After a disappointing off season, the Rams are not expected to win many games. The Seahawks had one of the best drafts in the NFL, and their rookies are going to make an immediate impact and help them win this game.
The Dallas Cowboys visit the New York Giants in an NFC East match up. Unfortunately, the Cowgirls are probably going to win this one, although the Giants are a bit of a sleeper team this year despite winning a playoff game last year.
On Monday Night Football, the Bills visit the Jets in an AFC East match up. The Jets are the most hyped up team this off season, and for good reason. They recently acquired 4 time MVP Aaron Rodgers, and running back Dalvin Cook. Coming off an OROTY and DROTY in Sauce Gardner and Garret Wilson, the Jets are sure to make some noise this year. This will be a good game, but I hope the Jets come out on top.
